How do I create keyboard shortcuts for Align Left, Align Right, Align Top, Align Bottom and other Align tools?

Unlike other Microsoft Office products (like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel), Microsoft PowerPoint doesn't let you define your own keyboard shortcuts. The Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint add-in solves this problem. Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint enables you to:

  • Define your own keyboard shortcuts to menu items and recorded macros.
  • Define shortcuts to password protected VBA macros.
  • Define shortcuts in Presentation Templates. Presentations created from these templates automatically inherit these shortcuts.

Using Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint, you can assign keyboard shortcuts to these Align tools that are built-in with Microsoft PowerPoint. Do the following after installing Shortcut Manager for PowerPoint on your system:

PowerPoint 2010, 2007 PowerPoint 2003, 2002, 2000
  1. Select Home tab, click Customize button in the Keyboard Shortcuts group to bring up the Customize Shortcuts dialog box.
  2. Locate and select the Home category
  3. Locate and select any of the Align commands (Align Left, Align Right, Align Center, etc.).
  4. In the Assign shortcut to command box, press the key combination that you wish to assign to the selected command.
  5. Click OK.
