OfficeOne Kiosk Assistant 2.0

Kiosk mode slide shows in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 used to reset to the first slide after a period of inactivity. Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 and PowerPoint 2002 (PowerPoint XP) lost this feature. Kiosk mode slide shows in these PowerPoint versions don't reset any more. Kiosk Assistant aims to brings back that feature. It enhances it further to allow you to specify the time interval after which the kiosk mode slide show should reset. The slide to which the slide show should reset to can be configured too. To use Kiosk Assistant, follow the instructions given below.

Kiosk Assistant is supported on Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 (32-bit, 64-bit), Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 (XP). Download the 550 KB installation executable from here.

Installation Instructions

  • Download and save KioskAssistant20.exe.
  • Execute the setup executable KioskAssistant20.exe. This will install OfficeOne Kiosk Assistant and register it for use with PowerPoint.
  • Start Microsoft PowerPoint.

Using Kiosk Assistant

After loading Kiosk Assistant in PowerPoint, the kiosk mode slide shows would reset to the first slide after an inactivity period of 5 minutes. To configure the reset interval and the reset slide, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Slide Show | Configure Kiosk Assistant... menu item. You would be presented with the Kiosk Assistant Settings dialog box.
  2. Set the amount of inactivity interval after which the kiosk slide show should reset.
  3. From the list of slides shown, select the slide that the slide show should reset to after an amount of inactivity.
  4. Click OK.

When you start the slide show, Kiosk Assistant will start monitoring it and after it detects no activity on the slide show for the set interval, it will navigate the slide show to the preset slide.
